Origin Story...

The seasoned online warrior took me to one side (in a chat room), his voice gruff and scratchy from too many broken dreams (I assume, I could only see what he was typing). His skin was leathery and lined, deep cracks marring the surface of his skin, like fractures expanding across the breaking ice on the surface of a frozen Canadian lake (again, guess work on my part).

"Choose an alias that's edgy," he growled, in 11pt Arial. "You know, something a bit dark, a bit ambiguous. A bit.... ominous."
